July 2022
The group minutes for July 2022 are attached and thanks to group member Lesley for preparing them. They are longer than you would expect from ordinary meeting minutes and serve more of a newsletter with reports on the death penalty, current UK government bills which are causing the human rights community some alarm, and a report on refugees.
We are pleased to attach the minutes of our June meeting thanks to group member Lesley for preparing them. At 13 pages long they might seem overlong for minutes of a meeting which normally would run to a handful of pages. However, we do not produce a newsletter and many of the items are of interest to a wider public than just those attendees. The various bills being introduced by the government are of great concern and will curb dissent and criminalise various aspects of legitimate protest.
We are pleased to attach our minutes for the meeting in May 2022 compiled by group member Lesley. They contain much of interest especially the UK government’s plan to scrap the Human Rights Act (see a previous post) and a lot of material concerning refugees and immigration.
The minutes of the group’s meeting in April are attached thanks to group member Lesley for preparing them. We are slowly getting back to normal after the pandemic and we discussed going back to a face to face meeting in May.
We are pleased to attach the group minutes of the last meeting held via Zoom. As well as the usual reports on the death penalty, refugees and progress with the various bills in parliament, we talked about possibly asking the group Ice and Fire to return to the Studio Theatre if they are happy.
We are pleased to attach the minutes of the group’s meeting help via Zoom thanks to group member Lesley for the work in compiling them. It’s perhaps worth mentioning that we do not produce a newsletter – partly because we were not able to secure an outlet for them in the printed form – so these minutes are much fuller than normal meeting minutes to enable a wider audience to review content.
We are pleased to attach the minutes of the December 2021 meeting (via Zoom) thanks to group member Lesley for compiling them.
The minutes give details of our forthcoming events and these are an opportunity for people thinking of joining to make contact.
Attached are the minutes of the November 2021 meeting of the group thanks to group member Lesley for compiling them. At the end of the minutes are some future actions for example the annual carol singing in December, which members may wish to take part in.
